We had a tree stump in our back yard , its diameter is about a little bit greater than 4′ , it had bothered us for a few months , we’ve tried some power tools on it but nothing can go through it, lately we got 4 ton rated cable pullers , together with my truck pulled the stump out without major effort!
Actually hand cable pullers are heavy duty pulling tools and can be used to do a lot of things, sometimes you even can use it in pace of ATV Winch to save money. The rated capacity of cable puller usually comes in from 1 ton to 4 ton(2200lbs to 8800lbs), the reach of the pullers is usually 6 feet to 12 feet, the higher the capacity, the shorter the reach, 1 ton puller can have 12′ reach while 4 ton puller will only have 6′ reach, but some extra heavy duty 4 ton ones can have 11′ or more. We usually call cable puller “Come Along”, by definition, a come along is a hand operated ratchet lever winch, so cable puller can be called come along, along with chain hoist, hand winch, trailer winch. regular hand winch is used to pull boat out of water on the boat trailer or lower the boat into water, that’s why you see ‘boat trailer winch”, and hand winch has to be fixed onto something before use while you can just hook cable puller onto something immobile , such as a tree. People also give the name chain come alongs to these pullers and blocks, the reason is that the pullers always require chains to work, these chains are mostly grade 80 or higher grade.
For stretching, pulling, lifting and lowering, cable pullers are the best choice. To pull vehicles onto the trailer or release the vehicle off the trailer, to pull or tear down trees, pull big rack or shed around your house, pull the stuck trees out of ditch , compare to electric powered winch, such as ATV Winch, cable pullers are inexpensive alternatives. Now we need to get the cable puller, the way to do it is to get it online, just type in a few keywords you will get what you’re looking for. To get a nice deal you need to make informed decision, you should refer to online forum for advise on the very product you’re going to buy.
If you can choose, it’s no doubt that the hand puller should be used for it’s environment friendly feature, since there is no waste when you use it, and there is less waste when it’s being made.
